Description
Photograph of a drawing of the exterior of San Francisco's Palace Hotel, ca.1890. The massive hotel has seven stories, including a first floor filled with shops. Several of the shops on the right side of the hotel have striped awnings over their windows. The roof of the hotel is flat and is surrounded by a wrought iron fence. There is a flagless flagpole on the right side of the roof. There are several pedestrians walking in the street in front of the building. There is another building visible in the foreground on the left side and it has a rounded tower-like structure on its right corner.
