Photograph of a view of Mormon Hill, Palmyra, New York, ca.1823. Two men stand atop a tall hill, which is lined with fences diagonally up the hill and another fence lining the base of the hill. The trunk of a tall tree stands in the foreground at right, while several other trees can be seen behind it. Three other trees can be seen at left near the hill. Mormon Hill is where Joseph Smith is said to have found the golden plates of the Book of Mormon.
