Description
Photograph of a close-up of a specimen of godetias (Godetia bottae), ca.1920. Over several dozen stems are stuffed into the vase. The flowers and leaves grow along the stems. On dark background. "This graceful, low-growing godetia species from Monterey County in California is an excellent, easily grown plant for bedding and edging. It forms a much-branched mound of reddish stems, narrow leaves and elegantly pendulous buds opening to a delicate shade of pale lavender-lilac with a silky texture. The blooming continues profusely most of the season. It can also be grown in window boxes and other containers, if the soil is not allowed to dry out." -- unknown author.
