Photograph was edited for publication purposes Pictured is an area, once containing a swimming pool full of black water and rotting wood, now filled in with dirt and the surrounding area cleared of dangerous debris. Mrs. Montine Putney, chairman of the Safety and Juvenile Protection Committee of the Fair Avenue Elementary School PTA, began a campaign to eliminate the hazardous area just blocks away from the school located at 6501 Fair Avenue in North Hollywood.
