Shades of L.A. is an archive of photographs representing the contemporary and historic diversity of families in Los Angeles. Images were chosen from family albums and include daily life, social organizations, work, personal and holiday celebrations, and migration and immigration activities. Title supplied by cataloger.; Image is a reproduction. Margaret Rose Dadourian’s family was originally from Giumri, Armenia and relocated to the Boyle Heights neighborhood in 1913. Margaret was born in Los Angeles 1925. She married and had four children. She belonged to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in Pasadena, CA. Margaret died in Arcadia, CA, in 2015 at the age of 90. Joe Marikian holds the reins to two horses pulling his cart in front of a house in Boyle Heights.
