Two women, a guerrilla from the Farabundo Martí Liberation People's Forces (FPL) and a resident wearing an orange skirt, stand in a doorway during the combatants' occupation of La Palma, El Salvador. The guerrillas had just concluded a successful campaign in January 1983 taking Berlín and San Agustín. They occupied La Palma, a town of 12,000 people, for twenty-four hours before retreating to the hills in the middle of the night.
