Description
Felicia Luna Lemus discusses her book, “Like Son.” She begins by explaining the plot of the novel, which follows the story of Frankie, a gay woman who has undergone a sex change to become a man. Frankie’s story starts when her blind, estranged father contacts her in an attempt to re-establish their relationship before he dies of lung cancer. Lemus goes on to discuss her writing background and her education at Cal Arts. She explains her desire to make the city of New York come alive as a character in her book and the ways in which the events of September 11th influenced her writing. Also in this interview Lemus reads aloud from her work.
