Description
Scope/Content: Lebenswecker (pictured with cap on and off); created by German inventor Carl Baunscheidt in the mid-19th century; translated as the “Life-Awakener” or the “Resuscitator"; the Lebenswecker was designed to quickly puncture the skin, creating “artificial pores” from which sickness would drain; part of health philosophy known as Baunscheidtism.
