View of Mayor Arthur Meers as he receives the first letters from St. Joseph's Postmaster, Theodore J. Quinn. The rider is Keith Waddell Smith as he arrived July 28, 1960 at the St. Joseph Pony Express Museum for the Pony Express centennial celebration in St. Joseph, Missouri. Smith is the great-great grandson of William Bradford Waddell, one of the founders of the Pony Express.
