Oscar winners get a well-deserved tip of the hat from Maurice Chevalier, himself a special, honorary award recipient, after the Academy Awards ceremony on April 7, 1959. Left to right: Arthur Freed, producer of the best film, "Gigi"; Burl Ives, best supporting actor who scored in "The Big Country"; Susan Hayward, best actress ("I Want to Live"); David Niven, best actor, for his portrayal in "Separate Tables"; Ingrid Bergman, who presented the best picture award, and Chevalier.
