Title supplied by cataloger. Designed by architects William I. Garren and Irving F. Morrow, the San Mateo Theater has an achitectural style which incorporates Art Deco, Neo-Classical, Renaissance Revival elements. The former 1200-seat theater, which opened on July 23, 1925, is now used for both office and retail space. Exterior view of the San Mateo Theater, located at 66 Third Street in the city of San Mateo, captured during the year it opened. The marquee indicates that the film "Havoc" with George O'Brien is playing and that Charleston dance contests held at the theater offer cash prizes. Two automobiles are parked on the street and an abandoned bicycle is seen on the sidewalk outside the theater.
