Description
Photograph of New Marengo Street Bridge over Pacific Electric Railway tracks, February 1936. In the foreground at right, a concrete bridge can be seen extending towards the left into the extreme background. Along the railing of the bridge on both sides, a line of tall lampposts are visible. Below the bridge, at least two sets of railroad tracks can be seen. A row of supports for the bridge is also visible. In the extreme background, several buildings can be seen at left. Historical note: The January 1935 issue of California Highway and Public Works magazine lists this bridge as part of a whole series of public works projects that were financed by the Federal Government under the New Deal.
