Description
Contains two films pertaining to railroad excursions. The first film is a Northern California Railroad Club fan-trip excursion called the "Weekend in the Shasta Wonderland and McCloud River R.R." run on May 9, 1953 from McCloud to Pondosa. Scenes include the town of McCloud, sawmills, logging trains, and the McCloud RR roundhouse. The second film is a trip by train from San Francisco to Dunsmuir for the annual Dunsmuir Railroad Days Celebration. Scenes include the Southern Pacific Headquarters building in San Francisco, the Ferry Building, Market Street, crossing the Bay on an SP ferry, the Oakland Mole, and ending with shots of the SP engine terminal in Dunsmuir and the Railroad Days parade through downtown, complete with floats and marching bands.
