Description
Dr. Libby stoops in the entrance to his homemade shelter, shovel in hand. Burlap sacks filled with sand are on top of a wooden beam as other sacks are stacked up for walls. Photo caption reads: "Dr. Willard F. Libby and his 'poor man's shelter', shovels dirt to fill burlap sacks for shelter. He believes it will protect his family for 48 hours; baffle wall is removed for photo". Photo dated: Oct. 11, 1961.
