Photograph article dated May 19, 1950 partially reads, "A blustery hilltop home overlooking sprawling, booming San Fernando Valley is the hideout of John Gallishaw, 'story doctor' and distinguished literary consultant. The Newfoundlander, who 35 years ago was battling with British troops to take the historic Dardanelles from the Turks, considers himself in semi-retirement. Nevertheless, his days are filled with writing, his latest book being nearly ready for the publishers."
