Photograph of a drawing by Allan Edwards, 1954. Charles O. Matham, architect Charles O. Matcham, A.I.A., architect Roland Logan Russell, A.I.A., associate. "Bids will be returned on November 29th to clear the way for the start of construction on two dwelling units and a service wing to be erected for the widely known Los Angeles Orphan's Home Society. For 75 years the home has cared for orphaned and otherwise homeless children. The structures to be built now were designed by Charles O. Matcham, AIA, architect. The first units scheduled for erection are at the upper left of the photo. The service wing will be attached to the centrally located administration building and will house the kitchen, laundry and boiler room. The two buildings at the top and bottom of the photo on the extreme right will be future projects. The dormitory shown in the center foreground to the right of the administration building (center) is also scheduled for future replacement. The administration building will be extensively remodeled. Building to right at bottom of photo is an existing infirmary." -- typed on verso. Streetscape. Horizontal photography. Variously dated: 23 November 1955 & 7 January 1956.
