When the President of the Republic invited all the students of the city to celebrate the National Holiday, on the day before, by a visit to his palace grounds, we suspended classes for half a day, and went in large numbers to wander through the beautiful old historic building, the lovely gardens, and crowded courts. Some of us were particularly impressed with the number of other girl students there were in the city, not to mention the bravery of all of us in facing a most disagreeable dust-wind to go.
