Photograph caption dated May 23, 1957 reads, "Wandering Wallaby Lands in Pokey -- Aussie, five-foot-two Wallaby kangaroo, rests in Valley Animal Shelter after wild chase through Northridge and Reseda. Aussie, who escaped from mechanized circus, hopped around neighborhood putting on impromptu show for 30 school children. She finally bounced into backyard of Mrs. Kenneth Croshwer, 19212 Lanark St., Reseda, who called animal shelter."
