Photograph of the wooden gate beam where a mob hung Francisco Cueto (or Cueta) for murder in October 1861. The photographer (Charles Prudhomme) recalls seeing the hanging. Three people (a man and two boys) stand near the wooden gate in a brick wall. The beam stood at 608½ Aliso Street, Los Angeles. Utility poles are visible in the background. Legible signs on the wall through the gate or door read: ..."tires standard [...] Bluebird [...] 725"..., ..."Crow[...] vo"....
