Notation written on the verso, dated Thursday September 20, 1945 reads, ""Military Police and Police officers attempt to keep back curious crowd at Shirley Temple's wedding."" It was estimated that more than 12,000 fans gathered in the streets surrounding Wilshire Methodist church to view the bride and groom, Shirley Temple and Sergeant John Agnar Jr.
