Caption from May 20, 1962 Sacramento Bee reads "The Spirit of St. Louis, the sturdy monoplane in which Charles A. Lindbergh flew non stop across the Atlantic, was on display at Mather Field during Lindbergh's visit to Sacramento nearly 35 years ago. The photo above was taken by Robert Handsaker, a student at the time and now The Bee's chief photographer."
