Description
Image of a woman kneeling at the base of the commemorative wooden cross monument for Felipe de Neve a former governor of Alta California and founder of Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. The monument is located at the entrance to Olvera Street facing the Los Angeles Plaza.
Old cross at entrance to Olvera St., Los Angeles, Cal." "740" and "Brookwell Photo"--text, on negative. Title transcribed from negative; date devised by cataloger based on history of the monument. This monument was erected in 1930 at the opening of Olvera Street and the inscription reads "El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora La Reina de Los Angeles Felipe de Neve September Fourth 1781.
