Description
Image of Dundee harbour with a sailing ship in the foreground and the city skyline in the background. Image also shows two steam ships.
Mary Slessor was born in Aberdeen in 1948 but moved to Dundee in 1859. Here Mary, aged 11, entered Baxter's textile works, working for half the day and attending school the other half. At the age of 14 Mary left school in Dundee and worked long days in the jute mills.
