Description
Richardson Bay Bridge was re-constructed with T-BEAMS, each weighing 40 tons and made up of pre-stressed concrete. Fifteen beams were needed, laid side to side across the bridge to form six lanes. There are a total of 270 T-beams in the structure. Along the end of the tees are seen the wires which are sealed, air-tight, through the length of the beams. The gaps between the T-beams are filled in with concrete.
