“A bed made by native workman Musa Mtuwamuga trained by me & going to Government officer for his guest house. It cost 12/-“ Group portrait of indigenous men standing around a wooden framed single bed. Musa was the first Christian convert at Chogoria and the bed was sent to the guest house. ❧ This image is from the first years of the Chogoria mission in Kenya, which was run by the Rev. Dr Archibald Clive Irvine (1893-1974), from the collection entitled ‘Chogoria, 1922. The early days.”
