This is a photograph of Fr. Gleason with young aspirants to the priesthood from the boys school. Rev. Gleason was born in Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland. His family emigrated to the U.S. in 1903. He entered the Society of the Divine Word at Techny, IL, and later joined Maryknoll. He was ordained in 1923 and assigned to Kongmoon, transferring after two years to Kaying. He served a total of twelve years in China until failing health forced his return to the U.S.
