Photograph caption dated July 17, 1957 reads "Allen Martell, 28, of Sun Valley, comforts weeping wife, Anna Ruth, 29, as couple appeared in Van Nuys Municipal Court on child neglect charge. Martell was put on year's probation and ordered to provide their five children with fit home. Wife's sentencing was deferred."
