Photograph caption dated April 15, 1963 reads "Manny Borun, left, vice president of Thrifty Drug Stores, presents check covering three full scholarships to Dr. Alvah G. Hall, dean of the School of Pharmacy at the University of Southern California. Scholarships will be presented to deserving pharmacy students for the 1963-64 academic year. Presentation marked the ninth consecutive year Thrifty Drug Stores has awarded scholarships to USC."
