Description
Yellow painted wood box, rectangular in shape with recessed panels on short sides. Lid is on hinge and there is a metal hasp for a padlock. There is a paper label with portions peeling off on the front of the box which reads in part "California Disaster Office." Front also has black stenciled print that reads in part "HIGH SCHOOL KIT/RADIOLOGICAL INSTRUMENT." On the top are painted blue, red, and white logos, the top one displays a mushroom cloud and lightening bolt. The box held Civil Defense Radiological Monitoring Kit, No. 1666 at Hiram Johnson High School.
