Evel Knievel's baseball-bat attack on a man who wrote a book about him may keep the daredevil off his motorcylcle for awhile. Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Edward Rafeedie yesterday sentenced Knievel to six months in jail as part of a three-year probationary term. This was half the time in custody recommended by Deputy Probation Officer Ann Burnett, who referred to the attack as a "cowardly act" in her report. Photo dated: November 15, 1977.
