Description
Shown on a light-colored horse and wearing western-style clothing Sheriff Don Cox looks directly into the camera in this circa 1935 photograph. The ribbon he wears indicates that he is a parade "Marshall", one of many times he would serve in that capacity during his twenty-nine years as Sheriff of Sacramento County, a record for longevity in office still unbroken.
