Description
Photograph of a view of the Santa Monica Ballroom and pier as seen from the shore, ca.1926. Heavy surf is visible in the foreground crashing against the shore and the pilings of the pier in the distance. At the end of the pier, at center, the large arabesque ballroom building is visible. Minarets top each of the towers visible positioned at the corners of the building, while the tops of the exterior walls appear to be molded into decorative curves. Slightly to the right of this, a tower from which miniature boats hang appears to be an amusement ride. Scaffolding can be seen to the far right.
