Moral Re-Armament (MRA) was an international movement that developed from American minister Frank Buchman's Oxford Group. Buchman headed MRA from 1938 until his death in 1961.The movement had Christian roots, but it grew into an informal, international network of people of all faiths and backgrounds. Based around what it called the "Four Absolutes" (honesty, purity, unselfishness and love), it encouraged its members to be involved in political and social issues. The name of the group was changed to Initiatives of Change in 2001. Photograph caption dated July 29, 1958 reads, "Rajmohan Gandhi, center, grandson of late Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, confers with Peter Fritz, right, president of North Hollywood Rotary Club, following his talk before club on values of Moral Rearmament movement in combating world communism. At left is John Wood, MRA leader."
