Photograph caption dated June 2, 1959 reads, "In celebration of its anniversary, the May Company is dividing world's record cake--4,000 pounds--among the children of 12 Los Angeles child agencies. Cake ingredients are going to agencies who will do baking. Presentation ceremony took place at May Company, 8th street and Broadway. Photograph shows W.J. Brunmark, general manager and vice president of the store, and Ernest J. Loebbecke, president of the Community Chest organization, with two children of the Salvation Army Day Nursery, Martha Martinez, 6, and Albert Lee, 5."
