Cochran on charges of assault with intent to commit murder. She is free without bail until her preliminary hearing May 28. The 72-year-old great-grandmother Monday night shot and critically wounded her granddaughter's boy friend, Valley band leader Jack Royal, after she accused him of breaking up the granddaughter's home. Royal is in fair condition today at Los Angeles General Hospital."
