Description
A scene depicting a wooden Howe truss bridge over the Sacramento River near the Central Pacific tracks in what is now the Old Sacramento State Historic Park. The Central Pacific Railroad built the bridge in 1867 to allow passage for rail cars and other traffic. The construction of the I Street Bridge in 1937 necessitated the demolition of the older structure.
