Photograph article dated November 21, 1964 partially reads, "In grateful appreciation of the cultural interests of a man now sorely missed, Joy Milane has written the longest poem I've ever seen. It's nearly 15 feet in length and illustrated with suitable pictures. It tells of her personal moment, that instant when she finally realized the truth of that monstrous and heinous crime. The symphonic poem is called 'The Eternal Flame,' and details the love affair between a man and a country. It explains one American's feelings at a loss still hurting. Joy Milane's unusually long poem was a simple effort - a labor of love - and long only because her heart was so full."
