San Fernando Valley State College later became California State University, Northridge. Photograph article dated April 15, 1962 partially reads, "Charles Dickens will hold center stage April 23 through May 15 in an exhibition on his life in the Fine Arts Gallery of Valley State College, 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge. The exhibition, commemorating the 150th anniversary of his birth, will be the largest and most comprehensive ever assembled in Southern California, according to Dr. Harry Stone, professor of English and coordinator for the exhibit.
