Redwood Region. Clearing of redwood cut-over land for stock ranch. William H. Oppenlander Ranch. Done in late 1920's or early 1930's and still in progress. Purchased from Albion Lumber Company. In about Sec. 36, T 17 N, R 16 W. The owner slashes the brush, builds border line fire trails, and then burns. Apparently achieving good results. See succeeding numbers for view of other parts of Ranch. 6-16-42. E.F
