Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Dodger Stadium in the Los Angeles area of Chavez Ravine, just north of downtown, is currently the third oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. Construction began in 1959, it opened on April 10, 1962, and has been home to the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team ever since. It was designed by architect Emil Praeger and was built by the Vinell Construction Company. The stadium sits on 300 acres and has a capacity of 56,000, with 16,000 parking spaces. The stadium was privately financed by Walter O'Malley with an original proposed cost of $12 million but was finally completed at a cost of $23 million. Dodger Stadium's official address is 1000 Elysian Park Avenue. Photograph caption date stamped June 26, 1964 reads, "Four North Hollywood women are among those working to make North Hollywood Night at Dodger Stadium on July 2 a success. They are, from left, Mrs. Lee Bromiley of Union Bank; Miss Dorothy West of Security First National Bank; Mrs. John Barlow of United California Bank, and Mrs. Taylor Isenberg of Bank of America. It will be the Dodgers versus the Philadelphia 'Phillies.'"
