Photograph caption dated August 19, 1964 reads "Les Crawford (No. 42) and unidentified driver crash into wall sending soot and debris flying in action to be seen Wednesday night in California Racing Assn. big car races at Ascot Park. Crawford was unhurt, and will be one of favorites. 'Miss Ascot Park' beauty pageant also will be staged." Ascot Park is in Gardena.
