Description
Moonstone (possibly the restored version of the original of the 1st century BCE) on the lower terrace of the stūpa with the boundary wall. It is a plain version with only large and small flagstones alternating in concentric circles and radiating from a central semi-circular stone. Opposite the moonstone is a flight of steps, flanked by a simple balustrade with two guardstones and decorated at the top by several punkalas on pedestals. The two guardstones are of the plainest, early, undecorated type.
