Description
This one page document entitled "Art and lecture room" is part of a larger document "Partial requirements for a library building" prepared by Head Librarian Charlotte Brown in January 1931 as part of the planning process for Doheny Library.
"A room seating about 150 should be provided with walls finished for poster, etching, etc. displays. -- A platform should be at one end with side drapes. This would be most attractive as a regular stage platform not more than three steps from floor. Provision should be made for drop curtain for picture projection and a [sic] 11 electric connections for smae [sic, i.e. same]. -- Floor covering should be rubber tile, carpet or equal. -- Pasadena Public Library has a very good example. -- Electric outlets for radio and motion picture projection. One outlet in center of floor."
