Photograph article dated December 10, 1949 partially reads, "A ray of hope, the only kind of light that can penetrate his dark world, shown today for Otto M. Gall, 32, of Van Nuys. Gall lost his eyesight through illness about four months ago. Since then the former produce clerk, his attractive wife June 26, and their 6-year-old daughter Marilyn have been living on the $85 a month he receives in state pension. Almost half of that goes for rent for their little cottage at the rear of 14226 Victory Blvd. But today, hope sparkled in the cottage. Gall was notified that his application for a guide dog had been approved by International Guiding Eyes, Inc., 5501 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood." Pictured are Otto Gall, wife June and child Marilyn.
