Photograph article dated June 20, 1963 partially reads, "The lonely bull in 15 minutes will be dead. He stands still after his dash into the ring from the black corridor that led him from the corrals under the bleachers. His eyes, beady-black with rage, look for movement. You are in El Toreo de Tijuana, the old downtown ring. The sun on the sunny side is hot at four in the afternoon. Shadow made by the opposite side forms a gray crescent on the smooth dirt of the bull ring. The crowd stirs. Shirts come off, white skin to tan, and beer and wine makes the crowd lively, expectant, garrulous. Americans for the most part. It is quieter, more refined in the shade where the seats are more expensive. Many aficionados believe that mounting American enthusiasm for bullfighting may make the bull ring at Tijuana one of the most important in the world." Pictured is El Toreo de Tijuana, the old downtown ring.; See image #00134223 for additional photo in this series.
