Description
"Boyd Stewart grew vetch and peas with oats. Owing to the late rains, the crops were not planted until February. Vetch planting with oats for dairy hay has been advocated by the Agricultural Extension Service from the beginning. A feed salesmen for one of the big feed companies operating here said their sales of vetch are increasing every year." M.B. Boissevain " In 1927, Boyd bought a John Deere tractor, a Model D, from Adolf Holmes in Petaluma, and Boyd told me that it came on the train to Petaluma and Boyd drove that tractor from Petaluma to Nicasio. We called it Iron Mike. As a child I sat on a toolbox that was permanently attached with my back against the fuel tank. I would ride it all day with him." JoAnn Stewart
