Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on May 28, 1969 states "The Nevada Highway Department's first underpass designed to accommodate horses and their riders who are following the mountain trails has been authorized for the four-lane section of U. S. 50 between Spooner's Summit and Glenbrook, Lake Tahoe. Construction of the structure is under way a half-mile up the mountainside northeast of Glenbrook."
