Photograph caption dated June 22, 1959 reads, "Parents with degree - Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Bylin of North Hollywood admire honorary ‘doctor of humanities’ degree presented them by their sons, Jim, 21, left, and Jack, 25. Boys, both whom graduated from University of Southern California with top honors, lauded parents, who never attended college, for encouraging them in their studies. Boys were leaders, too, at North Hollywood High School.”
