Photograph of a recently-mowed hay field on a hillside behind Whittier, ca.1914. The straw or hay growing in a large section of rolling hillside at center has been cut down and moved into piles, which are neatly arranged in a grid pattern. In the foreground, the hill is covered with low scrub brush. Two large sheds and another field are visible in the distance to the right of center.
