Description
"Mwaja 1936. Frauen auf dem Weg zur Totenklage." ("Mwaja in 1936. Women on the way to a wake."). A group of women carrying bowls on their heads is standing next to a car. One woman is holding palm leaves in her hand. The car presumably belongs to the photographer.
Ernst Waldner (1898-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa. He married Julie Friederike Ebinger.
